SPYRIDON G. PLOUMIDIS

Spyridon G. Ploumidis is an Associate Professor in Modern Greek History at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He also teaches at the Hellenic Open University. He read History at the Ionian University (Corfu) and holds a doctorate from the University of London. He has published numerous works on nationalism and ethnic rivalry in the Balkans (particularly in Greece and Bulgaria); agrarianism; corporatism; the General Metaxas regime (1936-1941); the Asia Minor Question (1891-1922); the policies of Eleftherios K. Venizelos (1909–1922); the Greek Revolution of 1821. His latest book on Greece’s National Wars (1912–1922) was published by MINOAS in 2022.
