Manolis Koumas is an Assistant Professor in the History of International Relations (19th-20th century) at the Department of History and Archaeology of the University of Athens. He holds an MA in Modern and Contemporary Greek History from the University of Athens, an MSc in History of International Relations from the London School of Economics, and a Ph.D. from the University of Athens. He has also taught at the Panteion University, the University of Peloponnese, the University of Cyprus, the Hellenic Open University, and the Open University of Cyprus. His research interests include Greek foreign policy, Greek perceptions of the international system, and international relations with an emphasis on global security issues. He is the author of five books, and he has published papers in academic journals and contributed volumes.
